Terms And Agreement
Effective Date: August 3, 2026
Company: The Legal Joint, LLC
Website:
https://www.tljlawfirm.com/
1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Website Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website operated by The Legal Joint, LLC (“The Legal Joint,” “TLJ,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), including https://www.tljlawfirm.com/ and any webpages, forms, scheduling tools, payment tools, client-intake systems, communication features, or other services made available through or connected to the website.
By accessing or using this website, submitting information through the website, requesting or scheduling a consultation, making an online payment, downloading materials, or opting into electronic communications, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the website.
2. Website Information Is Not Legal Advice
The information available through this website is provided for general educational and informational purposes only.
Website content:
- Is not legal advice;
- Is not a substitute for advice from a qualified attorney;
- May not apply to your particular circumstances;
- May not reflect the most recent changes in the law;
- Should not be relied upon as a legal opinion;
- Should not be used as the sole basis for making a legal decision; and
- Does not guarantee any particular legal conclusion, outcome, or result.
Laws, regulations, court procedures, filing requirements, and legal deadlines vary by jurisdiction and may change without notice. You should consult directly with a qualified attorney regarding your specific circumstances.
3. No Attorney-Client Relationship
Accessing this website, reading its content, submitting a contact form, completing an intake form, requesting or scheduling a consultation, sending an email, leaving a voicemail, sending a text message, uploading a document, or making a payment does not, by itself, create an attorney-client relationship.
An attorney-client relationship is established only when:
- The Legal Joint confirms that it has agreed to accept the matter;
- Any required conflict-of-interest review has been completed;
- The scope and terms of the representation have been defined;
- Any required fee or deposit arrangements have been completed; and
- The parties execute any required written engagement agreement.
The Legal Joint is not obligated to represent you merely because you submitted information, requested a consultation, communicated with the firm, or made a payment.
Do not act or refrain from acting based solely on a website submission. Do not assume that The Legal Joint is monitoring or protecting a court date, filing deadline, statute of limitations, response deadline, appeal deadline, or any other legal deadline unless the firm has expressly agreed in writing to do so.
4. No Confidential or Privileged Relationship Before Engagement
Information submitted to The Legal Joint before an attorney-client relationship is formally established may not be protected by attorney-client privilege.
Although the firm uses reasonable measures to protect information submitted through its systems, you should not send highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, medical, identifying, or time-sensitive information through a general website form, ordinary email, voicemail, or SMS message unless the firm instructs you to do so.
Submitting information to The Legal Joint does not automatically prevent the firm from representing another person whose interests may be adverse to yours, except where prohibited by applicable law, professional conduct rules, or another binding obligation.
Once an attorney-client relationship is established, the handling of client information will also be governed by applicable law, professional confidentiality obligations, attorney-client privilege, and the applicable engagement agreement.
5. Conflict-of-Interest Review
The Legal Joint may need to collect the names of individuals, organizations, businesses, witnesses, opposing parties, attorneys, or other persons connected to a potential matter in order to conduct a conflict-of-interest review.
Submission of this information does not mean that the firm has agreed to represent you. The firm may decline a matter because of a conflict, workload, jurisdictional limitation, subject-matter limitation, business decision, or another reason.
To protect confidentiality, do not submit a detailed history of your matter until the firm determines what information is appropriate to collect.
6. Legal Services Require Separate Agreements
These Terms govern use of the website. They do not establish the complete terms of any consultation, legal service, document service, limited-scope representation, collaborative service, or attorney-client engagement.
Legal services may be subject to separate:
- Engagement agreements;
- Consultation agreements;
- Scope-of-service documents;
- Limited-scope representation disclosures;
- Informed-consent disclosures;
- Fee agreements;
- Deposit or retainer requirements;
- Payment plans;
- Client responsibilities;
- Document-retention terms;
- Cancellation or rescheduling policies; and
- Other written conditions.
If these Terms conflict with a signed engagement agreement concerning legal services, the signed engagement agreement will control with respect to those legal services.
7. Service Descriptions
Descriptions of consultations, legal-service options, document services, Navigator™, Co-Pilot™, Auto-Pilot™, ClickToLaw™, or any other service appearing on the website are general descriptions only.
A service description does not guarantee that a particular service is available, appropriate for your matter, or sufficient to meet your legal needs.
The exact scope of work, deliverables, exclusions, responsibilities, timetable, legal fees, filing fees, third-party expenses, and conditions of service will be established separately when applicable.
8. Attorney Licensing and Jurisdictional Limitations
This website may be accessed from jurisdictions where The Legal Joint or its attorneys are not licensed to practice law.
Website content is not intended to advertise or offer legal services in any jurisdiction where doing so would violate applicable law or professional conduct rules.
The ability of The Legal Joint or a particular attorney to assist with a matter may depend on:
- The state or jurisdiction involved;
- The attorney’s licensing and admission status;
- The location of the parties;
- The subject matter of the legal issue;
- Applicable professional conduct rules;
- Conflicts of interest;
- Court or agency admission requirements; and
- Whether local counsel or another professional is required.
Attorney licensing information presented on the website is provided for general reference and does not guarantee that the firm can accept or handle a particular matter.
9. No Guarantee of Results
Past results, client experiences, testimonials, reviews, case descriptions, representative matters, service examples, or statements regarding professional experience do not guarantee a similar result in another matter.
Legal outcomes depend on many factors, including:
- The applicable facts;
- The law and jurisdiction;
- Available evidence;
- The actions of clients and other parties;
- The decisions of courts, agencies, arbitrators, mediators, or other authorities;
- Changes in the law;
- Client cooperation;
- Opposing parties and counsel; and
- Circumstances outside the firm’s control.
The Legal Joint does not promise or guarantee any particular outcome, settlement, judgment, decision, result, or timetable.
10. Consultations and Appointment Requests
The website may allow you to request or schedule an introductory call, consultation, intake review, strategy session, document review, or other service.
An appointment request is not necessarily confirmed until you receive a confirmation from The Legal Joint or its authorized scheduling provider.
The firm may reschedule, decline, or cancel an appointment when reasonably necessary.
A consultation may be limited to the time, topics, documents, and services identified in the consultation description or confirmation. A consultation does not necessarily create an ongoing attorney-client relationship.
You are responsible for providing accurate contact information and attending the appointment at the scheduled time.
11. Emergencies and Legal Deadlines
Do not use the website, email, voicemail, or SMS messaging to report an emergency or communicate an imminent legal deadline.
The website is not an emergency-response system and is not continuously monitored.
If you are experiencing an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency service, court, government agency, law-enforcement agency, crisis service, or qualified professional.
If your matter involves an upcoming court date, filing deadline, statute of limitations, appeal deadline, eviction date, hearing, response deadline, or other urgent legal event, seek immediate legal assistance. The Legal Joint is not responsible for a deadline unless it has expressly accepted responsibility for that deadline in writing.
12. Response Times
Any statement concerning an anticipated response time represents a general service goal and is not a guarantee.
Response times may be affected by:
- Weekends and holidays;
- Attorney availability;
- Court appearances;
- Emergencies;
- The complexity of the request;
- Incomplete information;
- Technology interruptions; or
- Other circumstances beyond the firm’s control.
A message should not be considered received, reviewed, accepted, or acted upon until The Legal Joint provides an appropriate response.
13. Payments and Online Transactions
The website or connected third-party services may allow you to pay for:
- Consultations;
- Flat-fee services;
- Legal-service deposits;
- Retainers where permitted;
- Invoices;
- Document services;
- Filing fees or other approved expenses; or
- Other approved services.
Payment does not, by itself, establish an attorney-client relationship unless The Legal Joint expressly confirms the engagement.
Prices, service limitations, deposit requirements, earned-fee terms, refund conditions, cancellation terms, rescheduling terms, filing costs, and third-party expenses may be displayed during booking or described in a separate agreement.
You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing and transaction information.
Payment-card information may be processed directly by an independent payment processor. The Legal Joint may not receive or retain complete payment-card information.
If transaction-specific terms presented during a booking or payment conflict with these general Website Terms, the transaction-specific terms will control for that transaction.
14. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Refunds
Consultations and other scheduled services may be subject to cancellation, rescheduling, no-show, and refund conditions presented during booking or in a separate agreement.
Failure to attend a scheduled appointment may result in forfeiture of some or all of the amount paid when permitted by the applicable booking terms and law.
Legal-service payments, deposits, retainers, and earned fees may be treated differently depending on the applicable engagement agreement, professional responsibility rules, and state law.
Nothing in these Terms changes any client right that cannot lawfully be waived.
15. Permitted Website Use
You may use this website only for lawful purposes connected to learning about, requesting, or receiving services from The Legal Joint.
You agree not to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation;
- Submit false, fraudulent, misleading, or impersonated information;
- Use another person’s identity or contact information without authorization;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website, server, database, accounts, files, or administrative systems;
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the website without written authorization;
- Introduce malware, ransomware, malicious code, corrupted files, or harmful technology;
- Interfere with the website’s operation, security, performance, or availability;
- Use automated systems to scrape, copy, harvest, index, or extract website content or personal information;
- Use the website to harass, threaten, defame, abuse, or unlawfully contact another person;
- Upload material that infringes another person’s intellectual-property, confidentiality, publicity, or privacy rights;
- Use contact information from the website for unsolicited advertising, solicitation, or spam;
- Misrepresent an affiliation with The Legal Joint;
- Attempt to bypass website security or access controls; or
- Use the website in a manner that could harm the firm, its clients, its service providers, or another user.
The Legal Joint may restrict, suspend, or terminate website access when it reasonably believes these Terms have been violated.
16. User-Submitted Information
You are responsible for information, documents, files, photographs, messages, and other materials you submit through the website or a connected service.
You represent that:
- The information you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- You are authorized to provide the information;
- Your submission does not violate another person’s rights;
- Your submission does not contain unlawful or malicious material;
- Your submission does not knowingly contain malware or harmful code; and
- You will not submit information for a fraudulent, abusive, or improper purpose.
Submitting information authorizes The Legal Joint and its service providers to review, store, transmit, and process that information as reasonably necessary to evaluate your request, conduct conflict screening, communicate with you, provide requested services, maintain security, process payments, and comply with legal or professional obligations.
The handling of personal information is also governed by our Privacy & Security Policy.
17. Client Portals and Account Security
If The Legal Joint provides access to a client portal, document-sharing system, scheduling account, payment account, or another restricted service, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
You agree to:
- Use accurate account information;
- Create and maintain secure passwords;
- Protect authentication codes and access links;
- Restrict access to your devices and accounts;
- Notify the firm of suspected unauthorized access; and
- Log out of shared or public devices.
The Legal Joint may suspend access to an account or system when unauthorized activity, misuse, or a security risk is suspected.
18. Electronic Communications
By communicating with The Legal Joint electronically, you acknowledge that website forms, email, voicemail, text messaging, video conferencing, electronic signatures, and document-transfer systems may not always be secure, uninterrupted, error-free, or immediately received.
Electronic communications may be:
- Delayed;
- Misdelivered;
- Filtered as spam;
- Intercepted;
- Viewed on a shared device;
- Affected by a provider outage;
- Corrupted during transmission; or
- Subject to other technical limitations.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security for your devices, passwords, email accounts, telephone accounts, and internet connections.
The Legal Joint may direct you to use a secure client intake, electronic-signature, file-transfer, or document-sharing platform when sensitive information is involved.
19. SMS Terms of Service
A. SMS Consent
By opting into SMS communications through a website form or other medium, you agree to receive SMS messages from The Legal Joint, LLC.
Consent to receive SMS messages is optional and is not a condition of purchasing or receiving legal services.

D. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply.
The Legal Joint is not responsible for fees charged by your mobile carrier, wireless provider, or communications service.
E. Opting Out
You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to a text message from The Legal Joint.
After replying STOP, you may receive one final confirmation message. You will not receive additional SMS messages from that number unless you later provide new consent or initiate another text-message communication as permitted by applicable requirements.
An SMS opt-out applies to text messaging. It does not necessarily prevent The Legal Joint from communicating with you through telephone, email, mail, a secure client portal, or another appropriate method when necessary.

G. Message Delivery
Mobile carriers, device manufacturers, internet providers, and communications platforms are outside The Legal Joint’s control.

Nothing in this section limits professional duties or other obligations that cannot lawfully be disclaimed, including duties arising after an attorney-client relationship has been formally established.
25. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Legal Joint and its attorneys, employees, contractors, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising from or related to:

These limitations apply to website use and do not replace or improperly limit obligations arising under an executed attorney-client engagement agreement, applicable professional conduct rules, or governing law.
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain warranty disclaimers or liability limitations. In those jurisdictions, these provisions apply only to the extent legally permitted.
26. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Legal Joint and its attorneys, employees, contractors, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and reasonable expenses arising from:
- Your unlawful use of the website;

28. Governing Law
These Website Terms and disputes arising specifically from use of this website will be governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
This section does not determine the law applicable to a particular legal matter or attorney-client engagement. The governing law, venue, dispute-resolution process, or jurisdiction associated with legal services may be addressed separately in the applicable engagement agreement.
29. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable when permitted by law.
The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
30. No Waiver
The Legal Joint’s failure to enforce a provision of these Terms does not waive its right to enforce that provision or another provision later.
